Real Madrid star wants Arsenal move

Arsenal have been handed a huge transfer boost, as Real Madrid starlet Alvaro Morata could be ready to push a move to the North London club.

According to talkSPORT, the talented young striker is prepared to make the move to the Emirates in an attempt to secure more first team football.

Arsenal were linked with a move for Morata both last summer and in the January transfer window. Real Madrid, however, were not willing to let the future superstar leave. The 21-year-old also backed a prolonged stay by announcing his happiness at being part of the biggest club in the world.

But now, after only making one start this season, may seek a move away from the Bernabeu. A temporary move would suit the Spanish giants but reports claim they may be willing to cash in on the striker. Unwilling to give up on Morata though,… Continue reading →

Manchester United and Liverpool have joined the chase for promising Inter Milan defender Ibrahima Mbaye.

The 19-year-old is currently on loan at Livorno and despite the clubs relegation battle has drawn interest from some of Europe’s top clubs. As well as the Premier League giants he is reportedly wanted by Lazio and runaway Serie A leaders Juventus.

Spurs comeback to overcome Dnipro

Tottenham Hotspur made it to the Europa League last 16 last night with a win over Ukrainian minnows Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk.

After a 1-0 defeat in the first leg Spurs knew they needed to win by two clear goals to progress. This meant the team that had failed to score in their previous two games needed to find two goals if they were to have any chance of silverware this season. It all seemed pretty simple for the North London side. Start quickly, grab an early goal and then wait patiently for their ‘lesser’ opponents to crumble under the inevitable pressure.

This, however, was not a script that Dnipro had read. While the home side were probably the better side in the first half, it was their travelling rivals that had the best chances. Liverpool target Yevhen Konoplyanka was a constant threat, though not quite as much as he… Continue reading →

Shaw and Sterling feature in England squad to play Denmark

The 30-man England squad to play Demark on the 4th March has been announced. Hodgson has given 18 year old Southampton full back Luke Shaw the chance to impress on the international stage. The England manager stated that Shaw’s form has led him to gain his first call up to the senior international squad, ‘anyone that has watched him will not deny that he deserves a place’.

Another youthful inclusion is Raheem Sterling; the 19 year old will feature in Hodgson’s squad for only the second time in his career and Hodgson believes that Sterling ‘has burst back on the scene at Liverpool’. Another Liverpool success story is Jordan Henderson, the 23 year old has been in fine form for his club this season and his two goals against Swansea last week cemented his place in the squad.

There is a welcome return to international football for Alex Oxlade-… Continue reading →
