With just seven days to go until the World Cup kicks off we continue with our build-up to the greatest show on Earth. Today we preview Group B which consists of current European and World Champions Spain, European giants Holland, South American side Chile and Asia’s representative Australia.
What more can we say about this Spanish team. Since 2008 they have dominated world football, currently hold the European and World titles, and are seeking their fourth consecutive title.
Vicente Del Bosque’s side are undoubtedly one of the favorourites to win this summer however, just 12 months on since their Confederations Cup Final humiliation, some Spaniards aren’t as confident as they have been in the past.
That 3-0 defeat by Brazil last summer was a wake-up call for Spain. They had finally met a rival who were better than them for the first… Continue reading →
Chelsea’s imminent capture of Spanish international Diego Costa has put the future of the Belgian international into question and it is rumoured that a loan switch to Madrid could be part of the deal. Despite this, Valencia also hold a strong interest in signing Lukaku with a suspected fee of £18 million set to be offered to the West London club. The Belgian could become part of a massive summer spending spree as Valencia are ready to splash out €60 million on new players. This news comes after Peter Lim, a Singapore businessman, took over the debt-ridden Spanish club in May.

SUMMER transfer plans are well underway at Tottenham Hotspur as they look towards a new era.
On Monday new manager Mauricio Pochettino met with Sporting Director Franco Baldini and Club Chairman Daniel Levy to discuss transfer targets. It is believed that one of the names top of the list is Valencia midfielder Ever Banega.
Banega has had a tumultuous time of late and was recently left out of Argentina’s 23-man squad for the upcoming World Cup. His club Valencia also sent him on-loan to Newell’s Old Boys last season in his homeland and are looking to offload him this summer for a fee around £7m.
Pochettino is a firm admirer of the 25-year old and even made him a transfer target at his old side Southampton.
Banega can operate in the centre of midfield and has bags of potential but… Continue reading →
Fabregas became a fan favourite during an eight year spell at Arsenal, before returning to boyhood club Barcelona in 2011. The Catalan giants paid £35 million for the man that ran the midfield at the North London club. Now, however, the 27-year-old is deemed surplus to requirements at Camp Nou, alerting many of Europe’s top clubs to his availability.
He has been predominantly linked with a move back to the Premier League though. Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and, inevitably, Arsenal are all linked with an interest. While Chelsea are leading the chase, fellow Spaniard Cazorla hopes he returns to the club where he made a name for himself.
“I’ve read that he could go to Chelsea but I’d prefer him to come to Arsenal because he’s a great player and… Continue reading →
Liverpool have been chasing proven quality since their return to the Champions League and Moreno tops manager Brendan Rodgers’ wish list. The 21-year-old was an integral part of the Sevilla side that won this seasons Europa League and has drawn interest from some of Europe’s top sides. Chelsea, Napoli and Real Madrid are all said to be interested and Moreno was thought to be holding out for the move to Madrid.
Move to Los Blancos would intensify rumours of a move away for Fabio Coentrao, a long term target for Manchester United. But Liverpool are the first team to make Sevilla an offer, keen to tie up a deal before the World Cup. The Reds are aware that Moreno’s value could sky-rocket with a good performance in Brazil, should he… Continue reading →
