Arsenal Linked With Song Return

As Arsenal look to add a defensive midfielder to their already well stocked midfield, former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song is the new name being linked with the Emirates Stadium on a season long loan deal from Barcelona.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been linked with completing a season long loan deal for the Cameroon international to bring him back to North London to add some much needed defensive options to an already attacking midfield. New Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is willing to loan the midfielder out for no fee with the Premier League looking his mostly likely destination. Barcelona have added former Sevilla man Ivan Rakitic this summer and along with Sergio Busquets in that role, it has meant Song is now surplus to requirements. World class midfielder free to move to Arsenal

Arsenal have been given renewed hope of signing their number one summer target after he was dropped from the European Super Cup.


Sami Khedira has been top of manager Arsene Wenger’s wish-list since the signing of Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona. The move has become one of the biggest on-off moves of the summer, with Real Madrid previously claiming that the Germany international was not for sale.


Khedira, however, was forced to watch last night’s victory over Sevilla from the sidelines. Spanish newspaper Marca believe it is a sign that the La Liga giants are ready to sell. The 27-year-old was linked with a move from Madrid last summer feet falling out of favour with manager Carlo Ancelotti but wanted to stay and fight for his place. But after making only 12 league starts for Los Blancos last season he started to pine for a move away.

Spurs close in on Mateo Musacchio: But who is he?

MAURICIO POCHETTINO is closing in on his fourth defensive summer signing as Tottenham Hotspur boss after the club agreed a fee with Villarreal for highly-rated Argentine centre-back Mateo Musacchio.

The new Spurs boss, appointed manager back in May, has wasted no time this summer in recruiting fresh blood for his back line. Along with goalkeeper Michel Vorm, Pochettino has swooped for Ben Davies, Eric Dier and now Musacchio as he looks to plug a defence which conceded 51 goals last season.

The fee for the 23-year old is believed to be around £17 million and is seen as a major coup for the club with Musacchio voted the best centre-back in Spain last season.

Spurs close in on third summer signing

TOTTENHAM Hotspur are closing in on their third summer signing after overnight reports suggested that English defender Eric Dier was closing in on a move to North London. The 20-year old Sporting Lisbon centre-half is expected to complete his move in the coming days with a £4 million deal between the two clubs being discussed.

Despite not being a household name on these shores the young defender has already made five appearances for the England under-21 side and is dubbed as the “next John Terry” due to his brave and powerful playing style.
He was approached by the Portuguese FA to play his international football for them however he turned down their advances and has represented England at under-18, u19, u20 and u21 levels.

Tottenham set for Swansea double swoop

Tottenham Hotspur look set to make their first signings of the summer, a double swoop for Swansea City pair Ben Davies and Michel Vorm, with midfielder Gyfil Sigurdsson moving in the opposite direction.


Spurs are desperate for a left-back after Benoît Assou-Ekotto, who was out on loan last season and Danny Rose, who performed poorly, have both been linked with moves away from the club. The North London club look to upgrade with the Welsh youngster. Davies, who came through Swansea’s youth set up, has prospered since making his debut for club and country two years ago after first choice left back Neil Taylor broke his leg.
