TODAY’S FINAL game sees Cameroon take on Croatia in a match where defeat for either will see them crash out of the World Cup.
Manaus is the venue, which is expected to suit the African side, however the Europeans will take confidence from their narrow loss to Brazil.
Niko Kovac’s side were unlucky last Thursday as a contentious penalty decision and a disallowed goal went against them.
The former midfielder said: “It was hard to come forward against Brazil but this game will be a different story because I expect us to have more possession and dominate. Purposeful running will be the key because of the weather. As we saw in a high-tempo England v Italy game, and one of superb quality, both sides wilted after 70 minutes in the unbearable heat.”

GHANA AND the USA meet once again at the World Cup finals as both sides look to get their campaigns off to a bright start. In each of the last three tournaments they have met with the Black Stars prevailing in each of the last two matches.
Jurgen Klinsmann’s side go into the match with optimism after a good run of form off late. Friendly victories over Germany and South Korea in the past year have given the USMNT confidence and they are currently four games unbeaten.
“It’s pretty much like a knockout game” is how Klinsmann described the match considering Germany and Portugal are the other sides in the group. Defeat is not an option for either side and know a loss will pretty much end their hopes of qualifying for the knockout round.
