Tottenham sign international defender, striker now needed?

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of DeAndre Yedlin from Seattle Sounders for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old becomes manager Mauricio Pochettino’s 4th signing of the summer, having already signed two defenders and a goalkeeper. Yedlin has signed a four-year contract and will remain at the MLS club until the start of next season. Former-Spurs goalkeeper Kasey Keller urged the USA international to stay in Seattle to ensure regular football. But the immediate loan-back should solve the problem, allowing Yedlin to develop further before moving to the Premier League.

Yedlin, who has played seven times for his country – including three substitute appearances in the World Cup – has spoken of his happiness about the move.

“I’m very excited to come to the Premier League and challenge myself against some of the best players in the world,” he said.
