Arsenal target Jackson Martinez has made it clear that he would like to join a new club this summer. The FC Porto striker’s agent says he expects an offer to arrive soon.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has put a striker at the top of his transfer wish list for the summer. Porto’s £34 million-rated striker Jackson Martinez is said to be high on this list. The players agent has now admitted he expects the offers to arrive soon.
Talking to a Portuguese newspaper Luis Henrique Pompey said;
“There are clubs interested in knowing more about his situation and may make offers to Porto, it is convenient to the all. It will be a normal process, done calmly and transparency.”
Martinez, also attracting interest from Chelsea and Roma, previously admitted he would consider a move from Portugal in the summer.
“I’m happy at Porto, but it would be nice to play in another big club. I like the English league – this is well known of course,” he said.
The Colombian international has scored 29 goals in all competitions this season and will travel to the World Cup in the summer. Wenger will have to act fast though if he is to sign the striker though. Football’s biggest shop window will showcase the talented the 27-year-old to the world.
Arsenal are also being linked with a massive-money move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema. The France international has one year left on his contract and reports are emerging that the Spanish giants may be prepared to cash in before it’s too late.
