Marco Verratti has agreed a new contract at Paris Saint Germain that will keep him at the club until 2018, according to his agent Donato Di Campli.
The Italian midfielder has been subject to interest from Italian side Napoli who recently claimed they were going to make him a “monstrous” offer to join them. This offer never materialised but Verratti expressed his desire to stay with the French champions anyway.
The Italy international played 39 times in total for PSG last season and is expected to be part of the Italian World Cup squad in Brazil next summer. He has also been linked with a move to Manchester United in the last few weeks but this announcement appears to have ended speculation of a move away.
20-year-old Verratti is often compared to Italian legend Andrea Pirlo so interest will always be high but he feels that he will get everything he wants at PSG so has no need to move, even back to his home country.
