ONE OF Leyton Orient’s stars from last season could be poised for a move to the Premier League after an impressive campaign.
The Southeast London club reached the play-off final before losing to Rotherham United on penalties and could be about to lose Moses Odubajo to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 20-year old scored a stunning goal to put his side ahead at Wembley last month and his performances have impressed new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino who is preparing a bid.
It is thought that the O’s would demand a fee of around £4m for the London-born winger who scored 10 goals in 46 league appearances in 2013-2014.
Pochettino rates Odubajo highly and was reportedly interested in signing him for Southampton before he moved to Spurs last month. The Argentine is known for favouring youth and it is thought Odubajo would be interested in a move to North London, even though it is likely he would be immediately loaned out to a Championship club in time for the new season.
Odubajo’s ability to play on either wing and also at full-back makes him a very useful prospect. His strength and composure on the ball has won him many plaudits during his time at Brisbane Road.
It has been widely reported that Pochettino’s transfer budget is £30m, after last summer’s extravagant spend under Andre Villas-Boas, with a centre-half and left-back at the top of his wishlist.
Media outlets continue to link Spurs with a move for Adam Lallana, who Pochettino managed at Saints, however those rumours are false, with Lallana’s heart set on a move to Anfield.
