As new Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal continues to make his mark on his squad at Old Trafford, one name being linked with departing the club is England international Danny Welbeck.
The England international who has often been used as a winger, despite his preference to be played through the middle, saw his number of opportunities lower under David Moyes and does not seemingly be a first name on the team sheet for Van Gaal. As Van Gaal implements his new 3-5-2 formation, Welbeck was hoping for more game time at the top end of the pitch, however it is clear that Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie now occupy those positions, it may leave Welbeck with only brief appearances under the new era at Old Trafford.
The 23 year old, who will hope to kick off and establish himself in the Premier League and for his country, is open to the idea of a new challenge and there will be a number of clubs interested in securing his signature. Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton and Hull have all shown an interest in the hardworking frontman as Welbeck looks to continue plying his trade at the top end of the Premier League. Whether Welbeck does indeed leave Manchester will depend on whether clubs meet United’s valuation for the player, thought to be around £15 million.
