Fulham full-back John-Arne Riise is the subject of interest from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
Now 32, the former Monaco and Roma defender looks set for a move away from the Premier League after making 67 appearances for the Cottagers.
It’s not the first time the German club have courted the star; Bremen wanted to capture the Norwegian international back in 2009 when still a Roma player.
The Bundesliga would be the fifth domestic league in which Riise has featured, having played in the domestic leagues of Norway, France, England and Italy during his career so far.
His most successful spell was at Liverpool, where he became a Champions League winner, as well as gaining medals with FA Cup and League Cup final victories with the Anfield giants. Riise also helped Monaco to the French league title in 2000.
Martin Jol is busy piecing together a reconstruction of his Fulham squad and the left-back is one of several players surplus to requirements at Craven Cottage. It’s expected Fulham will allow Riise to leave for free, should the deal with Werder go through successfully.
